Story
Hi there!
We're making a difference by taking part in this #SillyHatforMatt challenge and fundraising in support of stomach cancer reseach.
This challenge is in memory of a fun-loving, easy-going, inquisitive guy who loved life and who is missed by so many people. Matt was diagnosed with a rare type of stomach cancer (linitis plastica) in October 2012 and passed away in November 2013 aged just 40 years old, leaving behind a young family. He was fit and healthy and there was no family history of the disease.
By taking part in this 'gutsy' challenge we aim to draw light on a cancer, which has such poor early diagnosis and treatment options that only 8% survive after 5 years, AND raise much needed funds for stomach cancer research to develop new treatments and improve the outcomes for those diagnosed in future.
Please support our efforts by making a secure online donation and by posting a message of support.
Donations made through this platform are tax deductible (over $2) and will be remitted directly through to the GI Cancer Institute and designated specifically to stomach cancer research.
Thanks so much for your support!
