Pop - Op Event - 7th September
Story
This event has three keywords: Fundraising. Having Fun. Ex-changing Wardrobes.
All wrapped up in lots of Danish hygge.
The fundraising part is for #SillyHatForMatt - an important and amazing fundraising campaign. It is an initiative by Danish Trine, Matt’s wife. Trine and her two boys live in Albert Park. Matt died five years ago from stomach cancer.
The campaign is to raise money for important research into stomach cancer, and to create awareness for this type of cancer which receives next to no funding. Trine deserves all the help she can get.
Trine chose the SillyHatForMatt title because Matt was a man that loved silly hats. She wanted the campaign to be positive – this is also the spirit of our little POP-OP event.
Therefore we aim to gather to raise some money, but just as much to have some fun whilst having drinks and snacks in great company. On top of that you get to go home with some good stuff.
WHERE : WHEN: HOW?
This event will be held on 7th September in Port Melbourne.
- What to Bring? Clothes are our main aim for the exchange but kitchenwear, home decor, or books can also be used. Please make sure they are in good condition and something you would feel was a really good find if you found it in your own Op Shop.
- Everyone attending brings a min. of 3 items - but more is welcome!
- Please arrange to deliver your items to the host no later than 4th September so it can be nicely organised beforehand.
Everyone attending the POP-OP event pays $50 beforehand – donations welcome here.
• Use the $50 donate button above and add message POP-UP
• All the money goes directly to the campaign SillyHatForMatt. If we are 30 women its $1500. If we are 40 women, it´s $2000.
• Everybody brings a bottle and ‘a plate’ of something nice to snack on
• We will make a system so everyone will be able to pick out some good items.
Please make your $50 payment by the 31st of August. Very importantly - please email Lene on leneoutzenfoghsgaard@gmail.com a confirmation of the payment to attend. This is to confirm numbers and names.
Looking so much forward to seeing you. Wearing a hat on the night is of course very welcomed!!
